Our Board of Directors...
Christopher John Farr, President
Chris fell in love with Lubec, Maine after completing a week at Summerkeys 25 years ago, finally moving here full time in 2018. He studied physics at university graduating from Kings College, London UK and the University of Toronto. Their working career took me around the world helping hospitals and clinics build their radiology and radiotherapy departments. And Chris had a brief “sabbatical” when he owned and ran an historic inn in Kennebunkport. Retirement has given him the time to focus on my passions for photography and music – with a special fondness for the modern classical piano repertoire and jazz ballads. Music has been a big part of his life and through LAMPS he hopes to be able to bring that joy to others living Downeast. Together with his best buddy, a retired racing greyhound, they tour the Bold Coast and enjoy this extraordinary place we call home.
Arthur Lindemanis, Vice-President
Since 1998, Art Lindemanis has been immersed in the practice of providing, learning and teaching massage therapy. During that time, he has been making original music to encourage peace, deep relaxation, and profound healing experiences. Using a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments, all of his albums were recorded and produced in home studios from New Mexico to California to New York to Downeast Maine. Artful Touch Music was created
for, and inspired by, the healing arts. This music encourages relaxation, a resting heart rate, deeper breathing, a calm and centered mind, and a general sense of well-being. The versatility and extended listenability of Artful Touch Music makes it an ideal choice for massage, yoga practice, health spas, doctor's offices, classrooms, meditation and more. People who value consciously created, intuitively crafted art forms will appreciate Artful Touch, which is intimate, personal and mood-moving music. In his spare time, Art also attempts to fulfill dreams of being in a rock and roll jam band.
Pat Gunther, Secretary
Having come to Lubec for the first time in 1992, to attend a new adult music program called SummerKeys, Pat now finds herself a resident of the beautiful village of Lubec. Working as managing director of the Brooklyn Youth Music Project, a community based non-profit youth orchestra and jazz ensemble program, Pat appreciates the importance and impact of music as a conduit for community and learning. She is a strong supporter of music education for both kids and adults. Pat also serves on the board of Eight Strings and a Whistle, a NYC based trio ensemble composed of viola, cello and flute. 8S&W has been a strong proponent of new commissions for this combination of instruments. Pat is happy to be a member of the LAMPS board and to support the expansion of music and music education activities within Lubec and Washington County. When not working, you can find Pat playing the piano, flute or her newly acquired left-handed ukulele, reading, hiking, spending time with family and friends and, of course, spending time with her Chihuahua mix, Daisy Roo and her Russian Blue mix, Chloe.
